Uran and Dariush at the Nita Lake Lodge
Uran and Dariush during their first look.
Uran and Dariush are a really nice couple who came to Whistler’s Nita Lake Lodge from Japan for their wedding this summer. Dariush is from Iran, but has lived in Japan for years, so the languages involved were Japanese, Iranian, with the common language being English, which made things kind of interesting. The crew from Sea to Sky Celebrations did an awesome planning job.
Uran and her bride’s maids with her dress.
Dariush and the groom’s men.
We did the portraits before the wedding, so Dariush gave Uran her wedding ring for the portraits. All the bride’s maids rushed in to check it out and I grabbed this great shot.
I love the railway tracks by the Nita Lake Lodge. It has this great curve that makes such an awesome composition.
The Stone Circle, a classic location for Whistler Weddings.
We ran out to the Stone Circle for some extra portraits. It’s a crazy looking thing that the city built out in the forest which makes for great portraits.
There was a great wedding ceremony on the patio of the Nita lake Lodge.
Tech Stuff
Just before dinner, I asked them if I could try one last portrait. The sky was getting kind of gray, so with one flash on a stand mounted in a small soft box, and another below and to the right of the couple. I think it made for a nice dramatic portrait.
