Salted Vine chef and co-owner Jeff Park with the twice baked soufflé, photographed for the upcoming Discover Squamish magazine.
I really love working at the Squamish Chief, they give me a lot of freedom to get into some really interesting Squamish portraits. The photos here come from the winter and upcoming summer Discover Squamish magazines, as well as Best of Squamish Readers Choice and Women in Business special publications.
Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue volunteers Dave Richardson and Paul Jones man a rescue boat at the Squamish yacht club during an evening training session.
This was a lot of fun to work on. It was for a winter Discover Squamish magazine story on the Squamish Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue volunteers.
Social media specialist Deanna Wampler, of deannawampler.com, in her office at the Aligned Collective. While I was there, Deanna grabbed this great shot of me.
Brian Loverin of the Sea to Sky Highway Facebook group. He won the reader’s choice award for favourite Facebook page.
Above, manager Kailey Larson and co-owner Amanda Desjardins of the Zephyr Cafe, and (lower), the staff at Fergie’s Restaurant. Some of the restaurant winners from the Chief’s Reader’s Choice special publication.
The staff at the Tall Tree Bakery, from the Reader’s Choice. I just really liked this shot.
All of the photos were taken with off-camera flash, with the flashed bounced into an umbrella for the inside shots, and mounted in a Westcott small Octobox for the outside photos. I prefer to use an umbrella where ever possible, but they’re really not much use in any kind of wind. I used a Nikon D3 camera with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens for all the photos.
