Kristiana and Adam came from New York for their Brew Creek Centre Wedding this August.

The Brew Creek Centre has some of the best grounds for a wedding in the area, with beautiful trails through the woods and big wooden bridges.

A shot Kristiana and Adam specifically requested was of them on the creek bed. Normally the creek runs a few feet higher, but as it’s been so dry over the last few weeks, we were able to get on the gravel bar.
I love the big heavy fir trees on the site.
Another spot I like is this small grove of cedar trees where they usually hold the wedding ceremonies.

With the shot of Kristiana in the cedar grove above, I lit it with a soft box mounted strobe off to the right of the camera. On this shot, the automatic control failed and the strobe fired at full power, blowing Kristiana right out. Luckily, I had the camera set to shoot in the RAW mode, and was able to turn the exposure down -2 stops, which caused the background to darken right down. It looked odd in colour, but when I converted it in black and white, it really popped off the screen.
